Elder Michael Blake Midgley has been called to serve an LDS mission to the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo West Mission. He is the son of Michael and Susan Midgley.
Shirley was raised in Farmington and Kaysville by her parents, Albert and Virginia Udy Epperson. She attended Davis High School until her family moved to Morgan, where they owned and operated the Morgan County News and the Summit County Bee. After graduating from Morgan High School, Shirley attended the University of Utah where she majored in journalism and lived in the Alpha Phi Sorority House. Shirley had beautiful red hair and a personality to match. In 1954, she was crowned as Salt Lake City’s Miss Flame, a beauty pageant held exclusively for redheads.

Bonnie June Davis Malan passed away quietly at her home on Febrary 7, 2012, after a valiant fight with liver cancer. She was born to Rulon R. and Polly Viola Rhoghaar Davis on June 3, 1931, in Ogden, UT. Polly passed away three years later, and Bonnie was raised by an aunt and uncle, Gladys and Reed Wight, in Ogden.
Leonard Rulon Pearce celebrated his eightieth birthday on February the fifth. He was born and raised on the avenues in Salt Lake City, and is the oldest of five children born to Rulon C. and Grace Just Pearce.

CROYDON - Marcus Reed Wilde passed away at home on Thursday, January 12th, 2012, after a courageous fight with pulmonary fibrosis 16 days prior to his 84th birthday. He was born on January 28th, 1928, in Croydon, UT the son of Marcus Reed Toone Wilde and Lena Valliere Chappell.
Floyd Martin, husband of Marsha Ann, caring and loving father of Jann and Barry (Stacie) and the most proud grandfather of Janica (Jared), Brennan, Jentry, Cade, Taylor and Ethan, died at home in Morgan on January 11, 2012. He was born April 26, 1932 to Irvin Perry and Dorothy Stephenson Martin.
Elder Matthew Brent Dicou has been called to serve in the Lyon France Mission. He will report to the MTC in Provo on Wednesday, Jan. 25. He is the son of Brent and Laylene Dicou and the late Trishelle Dicou. Elder Dicou will be speaking at the Porterville Church on Jan. 15 at 9am.

Doug passed away unexpectedly November 4, 2011 of cardiac and respiratory problems at a hospital in Morelia, Mexico, near the city he called his home, Patzcuaro, Mexico with his sisters by his side. Anyone that knew Doug knew he was an intelligent, eccentric free spirit who loved to travel and hated to be tied down. He had friends and acquaintances all over the world and definitely lived life on his own terms. He moved to Patzcuaro, Mexico about 2 years ago and fell in love with the city, the people and everything about the simple lifestyle he enjoyed there. He is now flying high, no longer tied to a body that was failing him and surely enjoying new adventures every day.
Congratulations to Nate Buchanan who has earned his Eagle Scout award. Nate will be receiving his award at an Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, November 20th, at 5:00 p.m. at the Porterville church. Nate’s Eagle Project was 72 hours hygiene kits for the Morgan Fire Department to give to our community in case they are unable to return to their homes due to fire, flood, or other disasters.

Laurel Dean Rock passed away on November 12, 2011 from causes incident to age. Dean was born May 6, 1921, to Laurel and Leatha Phillips Rock in Morgan, Utah. He graduated from Morgan High School and LDS Seminary in 1940.
Jessica T. Little, daughter of Darwin and Tami Little, has been called to serve in the West Virginia Charleston mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jessica will speak at the Morgan Stake Center (355 N 700 E) on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. She enters the MTC on Nov. 16.

He served a full time mission in Dominican Republic and is currently attending Utah State. Heather is a graduate from Morgan High School as well and also attends Utah State, pursuing a degree in Speech Therapy.
