City Council swears in elected council members

 The first item of business for the Morgan City Council was the swearing in of the recently elected council members. This took place at the City Building on January 10, 2012.

Empowering parents

 Morgan welcomed Richard and Linda Eyre last week as they presented information from their new book “The Entitlement Trap”.   Morgan Empowered sponsored the event to help families in the area gather information that would assist and help in raising their children.   The Eyre‘s wrote their book to help parents with the growing problem of entitlement.

New leadership for Morgan Empowered

Shelly Betz (Chair), Kandi Christiansen (Vice-Chair), Lydia Nuttall (Secretary) and Mike Madeo (Treasurer) commenced their new responsibilities for Morgan Empowered on October 11th for the 2011-2012 year.  Our Morgan community wishes to express appreciation for the dedicated service rendered by Lanelle Butterfield, Jennie Earl, and Brenda Crossley who were the previous chair, secretary and treasurer respectively of Morgan Empowered.

MORGAN EMPOWERED Celebrating 1st Year Anniversary

It’s been a full “first year” for Morgan Empowered, our community organization consisting of volunteers who decided a year ago to organize and work together to “…coordinate family and community resources to empower youth to become responsible and upright adults.”  Combating the plague of drug abuse in our community was the initial catalyst for drawing Morgan County leaders together representing parents, schools, law enforcement, religious organizations, and city, county, and government agencies.

School Board Spotlight - Neil Carrigan

Neil Carrigan was born and raised in Morgan. He graduated from Morgan High School and earned a degree from Brigham Young after which he became a math teacher. He taught for seven years at Rich High School, a small rural school in Randolph that had only fifty students. He then moved to Morgan where he taught math and coached a variety of sports for thirty-two years.

Meet The Candidate - Blaine Breshears

Blaine Breshears is a long time Morgan resident.  His family moved from West Valley to Morgan in 1979.  Breshears attended school in Morgan and graduated from Morgan High in 1987.
